Catch up on our webinar: Reimagining The Provision Of Children’s Residential Care
The cost and quality of placements for Looked After Children is a significant challenge for Children’s Services across the country. We held a webinar on Thursday 11th November to examine the issues around children's residential care and explore a range of alternative approaches to tackling the country-wide challenges.
The session was hosted by MV's David Fairhurst and chaired by Andrew Christie, Chair of Birmingham Children’s Trust and former DCS of Tri-borough.
They were joined by Julie Jenkins, Director of Children and Young People’s Services at Calderdale Council, Colin Foster, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Children's Trust to discuss their experiences, and Mutual Ventures' Emmet Regan.
During the session the speakers discussed:
Current failures affecting the use of private provision in children’s residential care
Options for delivering children’s residential care differently
The future of these services and the potential return to the public sector
