With the announcement of funding for a further 40 areas, the Pride in Place Programme is fast becoming the government’s most optimistic and positive agenda item.
The Pride in Place Programme is the government’s flagship communities programme, providing long-term support to nearly 300 of the most in-need communities.
The programme builds on the model that underpins the Plan for Neighbourhood Programme announced in March 2025, in which 75 places were awarded £20 million over 10 years.
The programme aims to address the power imbalance between public services and communities by driving a fundamental shift of power to local people.
This webinar will be chaired by Mutual Ventures CEO, Andrew Laird, and will feature expert input from:
Sophie Broadfield, Chief Executive, Bath and Northeast Somerset Council
Nick Hibberd, Chief Executive, Bristol City Council
Our panel will consider the following:
Strategic planning - How to think about the Pride in Place opportunity alongside everything else - mapping current and planned investments across public services, ensuring that Pride in Place investments complement what is planned or already there.
Using Pride in Place as a catalyst for place/neighbourhood working - Many places are considering how they provide support in a more collaborative way with partners and communities. Can this programme be a catalyst?
Getting the Governance right - Establishing your Neighbourhood Board and being clear on the roles and responsibilities of the council
Ensuring additionality - maximising the opportunities associated with a guaranteed £20m over 10 years. Can this be a catalyst for other opportunities?
