During this free webinar, our expert panel will share their recent experiences and learning from the Plan for Neighbourhoods programme, reflecting on what works well and the critical conditions required to effectively plan to invest £20 million over 10 years.

The Pride in Place Programme is the government’s flagship communities programme, providing up to £5 billion of long-term support to up to 250 of the most in-need communities.

The programme builds on the model that underpins the Plan for Neighbourhood Programme announced in March 2025, in which 75 places were awarded £20 million over 10 years. The Pride in Place Programme will continue to put decision-making power in the hands of local people as part of a long-term approach to investment and community empowerment.

Our panel will consider the following:

• Establishing your Neighbourhood Board - selecting a Chair and tailoring the Board’s membership to reflect your communities and business base

• Confirming the area’s boundary - balancing what the data says with lived experiences

• Consultation and engagement - considering both universal and targeted approaches

• Decision making - the respective roles of the Neighbourhood Board and Council

• Strategic planning - mapping current and planned investments across public services, ensuring that Pride in Place investments complement what is planned or already there

• Additionality - maximising the opportunities associated with a guaranteed £20m over 10 years

The webinar will be chaired by Mutual Ventures CEO, Andrew Laird, and will feature expert input from:

Nathan Wall, Assistant Director for Economic Growth & Regeneration, Gedling Borough Council

Mark Bandalli, Managing Consultant, Mutual Ventures

Further panellists to be confirmed in due course.
