Alongside the 2021 Budget on Wednesday, HM Treasury announced a series of major investments in the 'infrastructure of everyday life' as part of its efforts to level up the UK.
The outcome of the first round of the Levelling Up Fund was announced and we are delighted that three projects we supported secured investment totalling £50m.
The successful projects are:
£10.3m for West Lindsey District Council's Thriving Gainsborough programme, which includes redevelopment of the town centre and building a four-screen cinema to attract visitors.
£20.0m for the London Borough of Newham's 15 minute neighbourhoods, which will connect over 75,000 residents to key amenities and services by a 15-minute walk or cycle.
£19.8m for the London Borough of Newham's Connecting to Opportunity programme, which comprises funds to build a new bridge over the River Lea.
£7.2m for the London Borough of Ealing's Northolt Multi-Modal Travel Scheme, which aims to connect residents to greater opportunities for work, enterprise and leisure.
Many congratulations to them and to all the other local authorities that secured grants. The full list is published here.
