Helping people with health conditions to return to work is a crucial part of the government plan to 'get Britain working'.

This requires employment services and the NHS working together, with the role of GPs crucial in this.

In Durham & Tees Valley, a model of providing employment advice in GP surgeries has successfully supported patients to improve employment outcomes for over 15 years. This webinar will look at the Durham & Tees Valley model, how it works and what other areas can learn from it.

MV Senior Consultant Hannah Szczepanski will be joined by Martin Harvey from the Patient Advisory Service (PAS) and Dr Katy Wilson from Kingsway Practice in Billingham to explore:

  • How does the model work in practice?

  • What outcomes is it achieving for patients?

  • What are the key ingredients that have made the model a success?

  • What hasn't worked and what has changed over time?

This webinar is part of the WorkWell Programme, a national programme funded by the DWP and DHSC to support people off work sick or have recently left employment in 15 pilot areas across England. WorkWell aims to help 59,000 people that have health-related conditions to get the support they need to stay in or return to work.

Mutual Ventures is working with PA Consulting as the delivery partner for the WorkWell Programme.
