The webinar looked at how alternative approaches to data analysis and multi-agency working can help those involved in tackling serious violence.
Since their inception in 2019, VRUs have spearheaded a change in approach to fighting serious violence by fostering collaboration among 20 Police Force Areas. This strategic partnership approach integrates data analysis, community engagement, and evidence-based interventions to tackle the root causes of violence.
The outcomes from VRUs are encouraging - a statistically significant reduction in severe violence incidents according to the 2023 Home Office's Violence Reduction Units (VRUs) evaluation.
