We can't tackle economic inactivity without joined-up work and health services
Health and Work
In the UK there are 2.8 million people that are economically inactive due to ill health. This has a significant impact on the economy, puts strain on public services, and blights individuals' lives.
Helping these people back to work requires treating health needs and supporting them on their employment journey. To do this, local services must work together, with an understanding of each person's health, work and personal goals.
We work with places to help transform the support for people out of work, and create the conditions for integrated health and employment services.
