John Copps

John joined Mutual Ventures in 2014 following a varied background in the non-profit sector.

John is leading MV's support to the Department for Education's Fostering Recruitment and Retention Programme, a key pillar of the government's reforms to children's social care, as our work on children’s services within areas’ upcoming plans for Local Government Reorganisation. He heads our work as a partner on the national WorkWell Programme, which aims to integrate healthcare and employment support.

Over recent years, he has led several major children's services transformations in councils, supported innovation and change in the NHS, and developed business cases for place-based economic and social regeneration.

Prior to MV, John advised a range of high-profile clients across the public and third sector, worked for an operational charity delivering services to young people, and set up and led Well-beingMeasure.com, a social enterprise that helps organisations track their outcomes.

Outside of work, John spends his free time reading and listening, wandering, digging and going to the park. In winter, he likes to find a pub with a fire, if he ever gets a free moment.
