Social adVentures were one of the original NHS Right to Request organisations that moved out of the NHS into an independent social enterprise in 2010. The organisation currently provides a range of public health, mental health and learning difficulties services in Salford but is looking to expand its services to other parts of the country. In early 2014, Social adVentures were granted funding from the Investment and Contract Readiness Fund* and chose to work with Mutual Ventures to help them become more sustainable. As part of this work, we supported the senior management team to develop their commercial acumen, running a range of workshops, one to one work and mentoring. Our support helped them re-secure a £324k contract and access a public health framework in Salford.
Mutual Ventures have also supported Social adVentures to diversify their services and income streams, our financial modelling support enabled them to raise £495k to purchase a children’s day nursery, which they utilise in conjunction with their core public health services.
Scott Darraugh, Chief Executive, Social adVentures “Since 2011 we have worked with Mutual Ventures to develop a robust business plan for growth. With their invaluable support we have grown rapidly – they have really understood our business model and provided the help we needed to be successful. Mutual Ventures’ passion and enthusiasm for making a positive difference to our business is clear to see, they have helped us to be more efficient, innovative and sustainable. I would be very pleased to recommend Mutual Ventures’ services.”
