Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership
Mutual Ventures was commissioned by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership to look at reform to payment and contracting models, and developing options for the future. The project was delivered in partnership with KPMG and the King’s Fund as part of the major programme of reform across the city.
Our work involved advising finance leads from across Greater Manchester on the implications of reform for the provider sector and the role commissioners could take. This contributed to a best practice repository of national and international examples. Throughout the work we needed to balance a sensitivity to the implications of change, with the requirement to be challenging and test the possibilities for reform.
The work was designed to ‘kick-start’ reform to payment and contracting models, which is now being further developed by each of Greater Manchester’s ten localities.
